Monty Don said in his introduction to Driftwood on BBC 2 Gardeners’ World in Sept 2016, ‘It’s a small garden by the sea (112ft x 40ft) with inspired planting and design’. A stylish garden of textural contrasts and rich colour. The herbaceous beds are furnished with agapanthus, spiky eryngiums, salvias, alliums and fragrant lilies. A broad lawn is surrounded by borders with Japanese maples, rhododendrons, hydrangeas and specimen trees interspersed with ferns and grasses. A fruit cage, vegetable beds and fruit trees comprise the productive area of the garden.

The Moongate Garden, 6 Elm Avenue, East Preston, Littlehampton, Sussex, BN16 1HJ

 

S-facing garden 50 metre x 15 metre, in its third year. A stunning Purbeck stone wall with moongate bisects the garden, creating two distinct halves. Within these, there are several sections including contemporary fish pond with stainless steel waterfall, a Hobbit house, circular lawns surrounded by herbaceous borders with a variety of grasses and trees for yr-round interest.
